Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule

The official list below outlines reserved time periods - not confirmed exams. Please confirm with your teacher whether or not the final exam for the course will be scheduled during this time.

Before registering, make sure to review the Goethe exam guidelines and terms and conditions that appear on each exam page. Be sure to make sure you register at the correct exam level.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists the locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. Check out the individual exam pages for more information about exam content, exam terms and conditions, and other guidelines. If you require special accommodations due to a chronic illness or hearing or visual impairment, you should contact the exam provider directly and make sure to provide detailed documentation upon registration.

Faculty can find their exam times via the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. The Registrar's Office also has a list with exam times for those courses that are required to have an exam by NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes in the evening are scheduled during the regular class time of the final examination weeks.

Registration

The exam schedule is available online and students are advised to review it. It is important to note that the schedule for exams can be altered at any time. Students should therefore inquire with their instructors to confirm the correct date and time of their test. Students should also print out the official list to bring to their exam.

In addition to the exam schedule, students must familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines and terms and conditions. These are on the website for each exam. When they register, students agree that they agree to these terms and conditions.

Exam sites try their best to accommodate participants who have special needs.  hop over to here  and extent of these requirements should be declared on the registration and verified by a doctor's attestation. The locations of the exam must adhere to confidentiality.

If a student has three exams scheduled for the same day, it is recommended to contact their department or instructor to schedule a make-up exam. Although it is possible to take three tests in a single day, this can cause high stress levels and affect the quality of the test. Additionally, the instructor may not be able to give a makeup exam on another day.


Before taking the exam students must prepare by studying their syllabus and practice their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test that measures your ability to read and write German. The examination results are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the test receive the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate demonstrates the attainment of the language level A1. This level is the first level of the six-level scale of competency laid out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free. Students must bring a valid government-issued ID to the test. If they do not present an ID with a valid photo will be disqualified from the examination.

Fees

If you have completed your studies at Elan Academy and wish to be awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (start German 1), you will need to pay the exam fee. This is in addition to the course fees.

Practice assessments give you an overview of the format of the questions, their wording and the difficulty of questions on the test. They can help you evaluate your understanding, find gaps and improve your chances of acing the exam.

Please note that the examination fee is not refundable. Exam results can only be sent via email and not by phone.
